Do you love the Fair? Do you want to work hard with an amazing group of people to keep making it better? If so, we hope you will consider applying for our Fair Board or Junior Fair Board!
The Fair Board is a group of volunteers that consists of no less than 22, and no more than 25 members. Below is a list of requirements and expectations for members of the Fair Board. **It is highly recommended that you have volunteered on a fair board committee for at least two (2) years prior to applying.
FAIR BOARD REQUIREMENTS
Must meet the required age of twenty-one (21)
Must agree to serve three (3) successive three (3) year terms – (9 years total)
Attend monthly meeting on the first Wednesday
Attend committee meetings throughout year
Include picture with application
Application due by August 31
FAIR BOARD EXPECTATIONS
Present for fair set-up two (2) weeks prior to fair in the evening
Present during day on Monday/Tuesday of fair week for final set-up
Present every day of the fair for the entire day
Present for tear down on Monday morning/afternoon following fair
Participate in any Chamber activities that your schedule allows
Application Deadline: August 31
The Junior Fair Board was created in 2013 to train and develop youth in the areas of leadership, community organization, and encourage youth involvement in the civic welfare of Washington, MO and the surrounding geographical area by providing leadership opportunities, by promoting public relation skills, and by facilitating interaction with other committee members. The JFB organizes their own events at the fair and also assists the Senior Fair Board as needed.
JUNIOR FAIR BOARD REQUIREMENTS
Members shall be no less than 8th grade and no more than freshman in college.
Members must not have reached their 20th birthday as of January 1 of the current year.
Members must reside in Franklin or an adjoining county.
