Pre-registration is required for all entries. Pre-registration forms are available at the Washington Area Chamber of Commerce (323 W. Main Street, Washington), the Vo-Ag Department of your local high school, or online. All forms, filled out completely and legibly, must be returned to the Chamber of Commerce Office no later than July 14, 2023.
The Farm Mechanics Show is open to junior exhibitors in Franklin and adjoining counties. Articles exhibited must have been constructed by the exhibitor or by FFA or 4-H Club and be agriculture related.
Only pre-registered items will be judged. There will be NO SUBSTITUTIONS! Show officials reserve the right to adjust premiums due to exceptional design and planning, final premium values subject to the discretion of the committee. Any premium re-adjustments will accompany the registration form.
Each exhibitor is limited to two (2) entries in each class.
Projects shown previously at the Washington Fair are not eligible to be shown again. Entries will be judged on project quality, design and function, and over-all appearance. A 100-point score sheet will be used to determine ribbon value:
100-80 points=Blue
79-60 points=Red
59 points or less=White
All entries may be brought to the Fairgrounds between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023. Entries MUST be in place by 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
Prizes will be awarded and pictures taken for Grand Champion projects at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
Premiums will be available from the Chairman at the Livestock Office on the Fairgrounds after 12:00 Noon on Friday, August 4, 2023. Projects will be released for pickup after 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023.
