Applications are now available for the Washington Town & Country Fair Livestock Scholarship. At least 2 - $500.00 college scholarships will be awarded. These scholarships are funded 100% by the exhibitors themselves from a 1% deduction in all Blue Ribbon Auction checks. Applications are available at the Chamber of Commerce office or from the link below.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must apply during their senior year in high school and must have actively exhibited livestock (market or breeding) at the Washington Town and Country Fair any year prior to their senior year in high school. Applicant must also be a resident of Franklin or an adjoining county and must also be enrolled into a four-year college degree program, a two-year associate’s degree program, or a one-year intensive technical program.
This scholarship will be awarded based on four criterion:
participation as a livestock exhibitor at the Washington Town and Country Fair
agricultural career plans as it relates to post-secondary education
academic performance
agricultural leadership and citizenship
